On October 22, the 12th International Exhibition for Heating, Ventilation, Air-Conditioning, Water Supply, Sanitary and Swimming Pools, Aquatherm Baku 2019 kicked off at Baku Expo Centre.
The exhibition is held as part of the Caspian Construction Week in parallel with the 25th Anniversary Azerbaijan International Construction Exhibition Azerbaijan, the 12th Caspian International Protection, Security and Rescue Exhibition Securika Caspian and the Caspian International Furniture, Interiors and Design Exhibition. The exhibition is organised by Caspian Event Organisers (CEO).
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Caspian Construction Week, Deputy Minister of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan Niyazi Safarov noted that the exhibition was founded in 1995 and over 25 years, it has brought together about 5000 companies from 35 different countries. From year to year the exhibition increases its potential, grows and expands. This year BakuBuild 2019 has brought together 280 companies from 23 countries. The participation of foreign stands emphasizes their interest in the local market, the desire to contribute to the economy of Azerbaijan. BakuBuild has always been characterized by the effect of quantity and quality. The wide participation of Azerbaijani companies acting under the domestic brand is encouraging.
The Chairman of the Board of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan Orkhan Mammadov congratulated the organisers and guests of the exhibition on the anniversary, and emphasized the massive presence of Azerbaijani companies and the increasing interest in the construction sector from foreign participants. This exhibition is useful from the point of view of establishing B2B contacts and is an effective platform for establishing cooperation, which is clearly reflected at the Agency’s stand.
Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture of the Republic of Azerbaijan Dovletkhan Dovletkhanov noted the significance of the current event, emphasizing that this is one of the largest exhibitions in Azerbaijan, which over last 25 years has made a worthy contribution to the development of the domestic construction industry. The increase in investment attractiveness of the construction sector has led to the rapid development of the urbanization process; it also charges the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture of the Republic of Azerbaijan with important tasks to achieve sustainable development through strict adherence to norms and standards for urban planning, the integrated use of territories and the provision of innovative solutions in the implementation of construction and architectural projects and implementation comprehensive measures in this area. It is pleasing to see that the BakuBuild exhibition, directly related to urban planning and architecture, unites representatives of the public and private sectors and serves as the basis for further cooperation and at the same time, creates favourable conditions for presenting a wide audience of modern approaches and advanced technologies in this field.It is hard to overestimate the merits of BakuBuild, because through the exhibition new technologies are introduced to the country's market and investments are attracted. Modern processes in the construction industry require new technologies and development models, and the current exhibition has been informing industry professionals and offering world-wide technical achievements over the years.
Regional Director of Caspian Event Organisers Mr Edward Strachan thanked the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the State Committee for Urban Development, the State Housing Development Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Union of Architects of Azerbaijan for their support. Mr Edward Strachan also expressed special gratitude to the partners of the organisers, who, over the years, have made a worthy contribution to the development of the exhibition; these are the teams from Germany, Poland, Italy, Russia, Turkey and Dubai. In conclusion, the speaker wished all exhibitors a successful work and new business contacts.
This year, the annual specialised exhibition of the industry showed a 7% growth, gathering 65 companies from 19 countries on one site, including China, the Czech Republic, Italy, Lebanon, Russia, Turkey and others. 36% of the total number of participants are local companies. Regular exhibitors include companies such as Azertekhnolayn, Anadolu Kafkas Insaat San ve Tic. A.S., Polymart, Euroclima, Newcond, Yusi Ko, Turan Makina and others. 60% of the Aquatherm Baku 2019 exhibitors are newcomers, most of which are foreign participants.
In general, the exhibition will present air purifiers, air conditioners, radiators, fans, heating systems, thermal insulation materials, bathtubs and Jacuzzis, saunas, swimming pools, heaters, compressors, coolers, energy management systems, environmental protection technologies, filters, fittings, pipelines, production of drinking water, pumps, refrigerators, solar energy, etc.
One of the most eventful days of the exhibition will be the 23rd of October when traditional B2B meetings will be held with the participation of foreign and local manufacturers and distributors. The organisers mark an absolute record for the number of scheduled meetings. In total, 150 companies will take part in the B2B meetings, where they will be able to discuss cooperation prospects face-to-face.

BakuBuild, Aquatherm Baku, Caspiam MebelExpo and Securex Caspian exhibitions are also supported by the Small and Medium Business Development Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SMB), the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Foundation (AZPROMO) and the National Confederation of The Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations of Azerbaijan Republic (AEC).
